Fraser Foreshore Park Trail is a scenic and wonderful cycling trail which leads from Vancouver to Burnaby. There is free parking available at the River District.
It is just over 16.3km, and can be cycled in approximately 1 hour at a leisurely pace with various stops. It is relatively flat with 72m elevation gain, and has really refreshing views.
There are many places you can stop at to view the river and there are places to stop at to have a picnic lunch and view the river. It is certainly calming and picturesque.
Interestingly enough, the River District is rapidly developing. The trail runs along the river beside the new buildings.
Along the way, you can definitely look out for pocket parks and piers.
